“Cancer is not just one disease, but a large group of almost 100 diseases. Its two main characteristics are uncontrolled growth of the cells in the human body and the ability of these cells to migrate from the original site and spread to distant sites. If the spread is not controlled, cancer can result in death”
That is the medical definition of cancer. But what is true about this quote? What does it (consciousness) have to do with fashion, art and lifestyle?
My dear readers, it has indeed much in common. Sustainable and conscious designer are unfortunately not often found. Probably the most famous designer, that only produces and sells vegan fashion is the beloved Stella McCartney. I have already dedicated a post about her new collection and if I’m honest: she deserves much more attention than she actually gets. Stella doesn’t sell any leather or fur items and she is the corporate claimer of PETA (even tho I am not a big fan of PETA, since they are too radical).

Another amazing conscious designer is the newcomer in the eco-fashion sector: Cornelia Guest! Her items are inexpensive (only up to $ 375", she admits to be a “huge fan of Stella McCartney” and the bag she creates are fashionable!
Here is one of her adorable bags, that you can purchase on her website.
A very good and fashionable brand in Zurich is En Soie! A sustainable label, based and founded in Zurich. They have amazing and lovely pieces, unique and affordable!

My statement is: eco-fashion doesn’t have to be ugly, but most of the time it is! And I honestly don’t wear much economical items, because in my eyes they are ugly! Why should I wear hideous clothes, just because I want to save the world? I am a fashionista, yes I do care about our environment, please don’t get me wrong but I am not ready to wear awful clothes, just because I feel better in case someone from Greenpeace talks to me on the street. I am a vegetarian, I don’t wear fur and try my best to save energy and water. But I am not ready, to look like a librarian in Birkenstocks!
So yes, I think humans are like cancer. Because they choose art and fashion, style and how some people call it “swag” over sustainability. I choose both! I like fashion, I love fashion! I love art and I am absolutely proud of what I am doing, because I get to inspire people to live better.
Living better and more conscious doesn’t mean, that we live unstylish! It means, that we look up to designers like Stella and support our brands and labels in our cities.
Tell me your opinion about fashion and consciousness!
